Are you thinking about ways that you could hold an event to raise funds for At The Heart?
An event is also a great way to raise funds whilst having fun in your community with friends, family and colleagues. Have a look at some of our tips below for how you can do this successfully:
1. Plan what you are doing to do for your event
Maybe brainstorm ideas and discuss them with friends and family. Make sure to pick something you have the means to do.
2. Set a target for how much money you are trying to raise
This will help you plan, and will help to motivate people to donate towards your goal. Aim to raise three times more than you will spend on your event.
3. Create a budget for your event
Figure out how much money you will need to spend on your event on beforehand, so that you can make sure you are raising more than it will cost to run the event.
4. Set a date
Make sure your event does not clash with any major festivals, sporting events or national holidays. You also need to give yourself enough time to prepare for and market your event.
5. Plan ahead If you plan what you need to do ahead of the event and and the day, you will be able to figure out what you need, problem solve any barriers and mitigate any risks.
6. Get help. Get other people involved! Whether it's friends, family or colleagues, it's a lot more fun and a lot less work if other people are supporting you.
7. Publicise your event. Let everyone know about your event and why you're doing it. You might want to alert people through social media and email or create some flyers.
8. Say Thanks!
Don't forget to thank everyone that came or helped you to plan and set-up the event. It's also a good idea to let everyone know how much you raised.
